Pasteurization is the process in which milk is heated at a high temperature and then quickly cooled and packed. In this way,the shelf-life of the milk increases and the milk is fresh for a longer period of time. For eg. Packed milk like Amul,etc.

The milk is heated to about 70 degree celcius for 15 to 30 seconds...and suddenly chilled and stored.by doing so this prevents the growth of microbes and this process discovered by louis pasteur is known as pasteurization........

Pasteurization or pasteurisation is a process in which water and certain packaged or non packaged food( i.e milk, juice) is treated with mild heat usually to less than 100 °c to eliminate or kill pathogen and extended self life.
