Weeds are unwanted or undesired plants which grow naturally in the soil. They take up all the nutrients and the minerals but they are not helpful in anyway. Sometimes they grow so large that they block the path of light for the desired crop thus,leading to the death of the desired plant or crop. They need to be controlled before they grow too large. Some preventive measures are: •Using weedicides •Proper and regular ploughing of the feild and taking them out by hands or machines.

Weeds are unwanted plants in the cultivated field. They compete for nutrients, space, water & light, therefore, adversely affect crop growth.

Weeds can be controlled by applying weedicides. These are chemicals which kill weeds without damaging the crops. These chemicals are diluted with water and then sprayed with a sprayer to the field. Since these chemicals are toxic, therefore farmers should cover their mouth/ nose while applying weedicides.
