Because plastic is non reactive .it don't react with air and water.plastics are also not corroded easily

A bucket made up of plastic do not rust because the plastic do not react with moisture present in air but on the other hand if we talk about iron it get reacts with moisture and get rusted .once it get rusted some brownish yellow layer come on the surface of iron.
