Some of the factors responsible for the formation of soil is climate, temperature, vegetation and so on. Climate is responsible because it affects the time of weathering of rocks. Temperature plays a significant role because it causes shrinking, swelling, and frost action, which allows small stones to breaks. Scientists attribute soil formation to the following factors: Parent material, climate, biota (organisms), topography and time.
