i. Fungi are eukaryotic, non-vascular, heterotrophic organisms.

ii. They inhabit dark and damp habitats and grow in any direction.

iii. They feed on dead and decaying organic matter so they are considered as saprophytes.

iv. Their cell wall is made up of tough complex sugar called chitin.
