(copied from mycbseguide worksheet notes) • Earlier when peoples were ruling they wanted only their personal deeds to be known by the people: - Like their conquests, their marriages, their deaths, their offsprings, their sons/daughters & the structures made by them.

  • Chronologically, dates help to show cause and effect relationship between events.
  • Dates help historians to construct history of a king or a dynasty in a chronological manner
