Weeding or weed control is the process of removing unwanted plants from crop fields.
Here, physical, chemical and biological methods are used to stop weeds from reaching a mature stage of growth when they could be harmful to domesticated plants and livestock.
Many weed control strategies have been developed in order to contain the growth and spread of weeds.
The most basic is ploughing which cuts the roots of annual weeds.
Other include, cultural, chemical and biological control.
Weeding is essential weeds tend to compete with the crops for food, space, water and light and greatly reduce the crop yield.
