Prejudice means a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. They may decide they do not like them because of their skin colour, religion (religious prejudice) or nationality. Such prejudices can lead to discrimination, hatred or even war.

A stereotype is a mistaken idea or belief many people have about a thing or group that is based upon how they look on the outside, which may be untrue or only partly true. 

Prejudice and stereotyping are biases that work together to create and maintain social inequality. Prejudice refers to the attitudes and feelings—whether positive or negative and whether conscious or non-conscious—that people have about members of other groups.
