If a fertilizer is completely water-soluble, it will remain in the soil only as long as the soil is reasonably dry. But if it rains, the water will dissolve the fertilizer quickly, and some will flow away with the water, especially if the soil is porous. Depending on the amount of fertilizer consumed, it may cause disturbances of the kidneys, lungs and liver and even cause cancer. This is due to the toxic metals that fertilizers have. Fertilizers remove the nutrients of the soil, damaging the soil and the local environment.
