Important funtions of various nutrients and their main sources are given below. ___________________________________________ Important funtions-. (carbohydrates)Give us the energy to carry physical activities. (Proteins)Help in the growth and repair of the body. Strenghen bones and muscles. (Fats) Give us energy for later use. Help to keep the body warm. (Vitamins and minerals) Protect our body from diseases. Main sources:- (Carbohydrates)Rice, wheat, potatoes, sugar, bananas, bread, maize, bajra, and jowar. (Proteins)Pulses, milk, cheeze, soya, beans, fish, meat, eggs, curd, chiken, tofu, and nuts. (Fats) Butter, ghee, oil, nuts, and cream. (Vitamins and minerals) Vegetables, fruits, milk, eggs, and fish.

There are five main nutrients that we should take in to survive and live healthy. They helps us to do various activities like playing, dancing, studying etc. They are Carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. There are another two components which we need to take for a healthy and growthful life, that are water and roughage.
