Chlorofluoro carbons (CFCs) are used in refrigerators, air conditioners and aerosol sprays. CFCs damage the ozone layer of the atmosphere which protects us from harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Effects of ozone depletion:

(i) Skin cancer.

(ii) Damage of eyes.

(iii) Damage of immune system.

(iv) Decreased crop yields.
