Light Travels Along A Straight Line: If we shine a torch on a dark night we observe that the beam of light produced by torch travels straight into darkness. This shows that the light travels in straight lines. Similarly if we try to look at a lighted candle first through a straight pipe and then through a bent pipe we will not be able to see through bent pipe. This shows that the light travels in straight lines.
