The animals which give birth to young ones are called viviparous animals. Example – cow, cat, dog and human beings. It is not possible to collect the eggs of a dog, cow or cat because they do not lay eggs. The mother gives birth to the young ones.
Those animals which lay eggs are called oviparous animals. Such animals lay eggs outside their bodies. Example – hen, frog, fish, butterfly, sparrow, etc.
Both viviparous and oviparous animals lay eggs. Viviparous animals lay eggs inside the female body and oviparous animals lay eggs outside the body.
