Shifting agriculture is also known as slash and burn agriculture. In this type if agriculture the peasant after cultivating the land move to the new plot when the first plot looses its fertility.it is a type of substantial agriculture. Who so ever follow thus type of agriculture they cannot get a settled life.the place where these type of agriculture is coomon are north south Africa, in amazon basin few parts if Asia too. The plants which are grown are cassava, tapuco,sweet potato etc.

shifting cultivation is also called as slash and burn culture. These type of cultivation mostly takes place on amazon river basin. It means that the farmer cuts the trees in a particular land and burns thus allowing the minerals to settle down in the soil to make the soil more fertile. few years later after the soil has lost its soil fertility the farmer moves to another plot if land does the same process there. Again when that soil loses its soil fertility he well come back to the plot or will go to another new plot and do the same process.
