A wave is the constant rising and falling of water caused by winds blowing across the oceans.
Tsunami is a series of huge, destructive waves, caused by underwater earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and underwater landslides.
The factors affecting the height of waves are:
The wind speed must be blowing faster than the transfer of energy from wave crest to wave crest.
The amount of time the wind blows, or wind duration.
The fetch, the uninterrupted distance over the sea for which the wind blows without a change in direction.
