The Munro system is in any other case called the Ryotwari system as this system was introduced to update the zamindari device. The foremost purpose of the Munro machine was to accumulate direct agriculture land revenue from each cultivator. The British government officials fixed the sales at 1/2 the price of the crop. The two problems arose with the new Munro system of fixing revenue were: (a) The revenue officials fixed too high a revenue demand. As a result the peasants failed to pay, ryots fled the country side, and villages became in many regions.
