The indigo planting the company forced the ryot to sign an contract those who signs the contract would get the implement for agriculture and other require thing and a amount at very low interest and by this ryot have to grow indigo on 25 percent of their land and by thus ryots were not getting fair deal and not getting anyinterest and it is difficult for them because indigo require force labour and by growing indigo the land looses this fertility and it requires 2 Bullock for l bigha and buffaloes are cultivated rice on their land and the two method which two policies appiled for indigo planters are as follows . Ryoti system . Nij cultivation And the name of agreement was satta and it requires large amount of land to be cultivated and soon "please comment on my answer "

Because the britishers forced the peasents to grow only indigo. This decreased the soil fertility. A time came when they had no other option then to revolt. All the peasents got involved in the revolt. Thus, there was no one to cultivate indigo. Hence, the indigo production collapsed.
