Antigens Antibodies
They are large foreign molecules. They are self molecules and circulate in body fluids.
Chemically they are either proteins or polysaccharides. Chemically they are proteins.
Their entry into the body stimulates the formation of antibodies. They are produced in response to antigens.
An antigen may occur on the surface of a microbe or as a free molecule. Antibody occurs on the surface of a plasma cell and also in body fluids.
An Antigen binds to a macrophage to reach a helper T-cell to initiate the immune response. Antibody directly joins an antigen to destroy the latter.
