Coal is fossil fuels formed by dead remain of plants over mīllîøñ of year's. Million of years ago Forest buried under ground due to earthquake and flood. Coal commonly consist of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen nitrogen and sulphur. Coal maily contain carbon. Coal is of three types:- 1. Anthracite:- it is the most pure form of coal. It contains 96%of carbon. 2. Bituminous :- It contains 65% of carbon. 3. Lignite:- It contains 38% of carbon. Petroleum is formed over 300 mīllîøñ years ago. It is formed by dead marine animals. When they died, then they settled on seabed. Then by sand they covered and high pressure and heat change then in form of hydrocarbon. Hydrocarbon is the long chain of hydrogen and carbon. E.g CH4, C2H6 etc. Most useful product of petroleum is petroleum gas, gasoline and naphtha, kerosene, light oil, heavy oil and residue.
