Rotation: The earth moves around its axis. This movement is called the rotation of the earth.
Revolution: The movement of earth in its orbit around the sun is called revolution.
Equinox: When the length of day and night is equal in all parts of the earth, such a day is called equinox. This happens on 21st March and 23rd September.
Summer Solstice: It is the position of the Earth when the rays of the sun fall directly on the tropic of cancer. The summer solstice falls on 21st June,
Winter Solstice: It is the position of the Earth when the rays of the sun fall directly on the tropic of Capricorn. The winter solstice falls on 22nd December.
Leap year: The year with 366 days is called a leap year.
