A statement is a sentence that states a point. it has no feeling or emotion attached to it (not a question? or an exclamation! of excitement etc..)
ex. i wish someone would sweep the floor.
an imperitive sentence gives a direct command to someone. you are demanding something it can be ended in either a period. or and exclamation mark! depending on the level of emotion behind it.
ex. sweep this floor right now.
or
sweep this floor right now!
(the first one seems like its coming from a calmer person right?)
