    People travelled from one subcontinent to another because of the following reasons:

    • In search of livelihood
    • To escape from natural disasters such as floods or droughts
    • To conquer other lands
    • Merchants travelled (caravans and ships) to sell their goods, while religious teachers walked (village to village or town to town) to offer instruction and advice
    • To discover new places driven by the spirit of adventure

    They traveled from place to place in search of food. Before the cultivation of agriculture and settled life, the man was depended on wild animals and fruits for food. So he used to travel from one place to another in search of food.
