  • Water carries oxygenated red blood cells to the tissues of organisms.
  • It brings carbon dioxide produced during respiration to the lungs where it is excreted out.
  • It carries different waste materials produced within body during various life process and are excreted out by various process.
  • Water regulates our body temperature. When the climate is too hot, we sweat a lot. The warm water in the sweat takes away large amount of heat from our body.
  • Water is essential for the growth of plants. Plants require water for the process photosynthesis. Plants utilize water and carbon dioxide in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll to produce starch and oxygen.
  • Germination of seeds takes place in the presence of water.
