Drip irrigation: Modern methods are the irrigation methods which are efficient in supplying water to the crops. They help us to use water economically without wastage. They include drip irrigation. Drip irrigation is the modern method which allows supply of water drop by drop directly near the roots to mininmise the wastage of water.  

Drip irrigation is a type of micro-irrigation system that has the potential to save water and nutrients by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots of plants, a drip irrigation system can be more efficient than other types of irrigation systems, such as surface irrigation or sprinkler irrigation.
