    Teachings of lord mahavira were. - men and women who wished to know the truth about life must leave their homes. - he said to follow the rules of ahinsa meaning not killing or hurting living beings. - they were taught to have simple lives, begging for food and were especially asked not to steal.

    Like the Buddha,Mahavira was also against Vedic rituals and animal sacrifice.He taught people to lead a simple and virtous life.He belive that every object,even the smallest particle,possessed a soul.Mahavira opposed the varna system and that all humans biengs were equal.
