Why do comets have tail?
  • 1 answers

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 10 months ago

The tail of a comet is mainly water vapour and other gases. The second tail is is usually dust particles. They point away from the sun because they have virtually no mass and so they stream out away from the sun because of the solar wind (charged particles blasted out in to space by the sun) and the tail always points away from the sun even when the comet is moving away from the sun
