The dispersion occurs in prism but not in glass slab because of the geometric design. ... They travel a very small distance in the glass slab to meet the second interface. But, after being refracted through the second interface, all colours start moving parallel to each other which recombine together to give white light. After refraction at two parallel faces of a glass slab, a ray of light emerges in a direction parallel to the direction of incidence of white light. As rays of all colours emerge in the same direction, i.e., the direction of the incidence of white light, there is no dispersion.
