    1. Stars are made of highly compressed gases , mainly hydrogen and helium. 2. Stars are much bigger than planets. 3. Stars shine because they have their own light. 4. Stars appear to twinkle. PLANETS 1. Planets are made of solid rocks , liquids and gases. 2. Planets do not twinkle. 3. Planets do not have their own light ,they shine due to the light of the nearest star falling on them. 4. There are only eight planets in our solar system.
