There are two types of magnets - Natural Magnet : Magnet which is found in nature and has a weak power of attraction is called natural magnet. Example - Magnetite Artificial magnets : Magnet which is made by humans and has a strong power of attraction is called artificial magnet. Artificial magnets come in variety of shapes and sizes. Example - Dum-bell shaped magnet, bar magnet, cylindrical magnet, hotse shoe magnet, etc.

Magnets are made in different shapes and they are named according to the shape, e.g. bar magnet, dumb-bell shaped magnet, horse-shoe magnet, cylindrical magnet, etc.
Natural Magnet: Magnet which is found naturally is called natural magnet.
