Deforestation is the cutting down the trees and vegetation cover. It affects the environment due to the following reasons: *The life of all the biotic species are threatened as the basic utility of our life ;oxygen cannot be obtained as trees give us oxygen. *Also the life cycle gets disturbed as many biotic species depend on trees for food. *Fewer forests means large amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. *It also disturbs the water cycle as trees release water through transpiration. *There is no stooping for soil erosions if trees are not there as they hold the soil firmly with their roots. *The normal environment due to deforestation fets polluted which imposes a great threat to the ozone layer which acts as overall defence for the earth.
