Pituitary gland: Pituitary gland is attached to the base of the brain and secretes a number of hormones. One of the hormones secreted by pituitary gland is growth hormone. A person having the deficiency of growth hormone in childhood remains very short or becomes dwarf. A person having too much growth hormone becomes very tall or a giant. Pituitary gland is called the master gland of the body because it controls the functioning of other endocrine glands.
