Aswamedha is a type of yajna that was held in times of the Kings. If a king wanted to increase the area of his kingdom, a horse was let to wander freely and was guarded by Raja's men. If the horse went in the kingdom of another king and he stopped it, they had to fight. If they allowed the horse to pass through their kingdom, it ment that the raja who wanted to perform the sacrifice was stronger than him
