2.5litre = 2.5 {tex}\times{/tex} 1000ml = 2500ml
{tex}\therefore{/tex} 200ml : 2.5litre = 200ml : 2500ml
{tex}=\frac{200}{2500}=\frac{200 \div 100}{2500 \div 100}{/tex}[{tex}\therefore{/tex}H.C.F.(200, 2500) = 100]
{tex}=\frac{2}{25}{/tex} = 2 : 25
Rs.4 : Rs. 50 {tex}=\frac{4}{50}=\frac{4 \div 2}{50 \div 2}{/tex}[{tex}\therefore{/tex}H.C.F.(4, 50) = 2]
{tex}=\frac{2}{25}{/tex} = 2 : 25
Since the two ratios are equal, therefore, the given ratios are in proportion. Middle terms are 2.5 litres and Rs.4. Extreme terms are 200ml and Rs.50.
