71% of the earth is covered by water .and our earth is surrounded by a layer of air called atmosphere which contains millions and millions of dust particles.when sunlight enters our earth it gets refracted by the particles present in the atmosphere.water present on the earth absorbes the blue colour of the refracted ray and thus when seen from space our earth looks like a big blue ball.
