  • The function of the human brain is to direct and control all nervous system activities, as well as being the basis of your mind. It is part of the central nervous system.
  • All sensory information collected by your body is sent to the brain through neurons (nerve cells). Your brain collects this data, and processes it into sound, sight, etc.
  • The brain also runs any muscle activities (except reflexes, which are processed in the spine), including but not limited to movement, breathing, heart beat, etc.
  • The brain is basically a big computer that runs your body. All thought and emotion is processed by the brain as well.
