A line segment is just part of a line. In mathematics, a line goes on forever in opposite directions, but a line segment is just a piece of that line. Line segments go from one point on the line to another point on the line.
Now that you know how to draw a line segment, it is time to measure some. When you measure, make sure the point at the end of your segment is on the first line of the ruler, the zero.
