Differences between manures and fertilizers: 

  1. Manure is natural substance obtained by the decomposition of plant and animal remains by bacteria. Fertilizer is inorganic substances or compounds
  2. Manure provides humus to the soil. Fertilizer does not provide humus to the soil.
  3. Manure is less rich in plant nutrients. Fertilizers are rich in plant nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. 
  4. Manure can be prepared in fields  Fertilizer is prepared in factories. 
  5. Manure is inconvenient to store and transport  Fertilizers are easy to store and transport
  6. Manure is absorbed slowly by plants .Fertilizers are absorbed readily by plants .
  7. Example of manure is  Green manure. Example of fertilizer is Urea
