Translucent - materials through which thing only partially visible are called translucent for example - butter paper and old glass elc. Opaque - materials through which we are not able to see are called opaque for example - chair and wood etc. Transparent - materials through which we are able to see are called transparent for example - air and water etc.

Translucent materials - materials that allows some of the light to pass through them are known as translucent materials example - butter paper and oily paper etc. Transparent materials -materials that allows all the light to pass through them are known as transparent materials example - glass etc. Opaque materials -materials that allows no light to pass through them are known as opaque materials example - wooden door wooden furniture etc.
