Hand picking is the method of separating easily identifiable material from a mixture. The components of the heterogeneous mixture can be separately identified from each other. And they can be separated from each other by by using hand picking. This method is used only when unwanted material is in small quantity. Moreover, shape, size, or colour of the unwanted material is different from that of the useful materials.
example: In our house, our mother separates stones and insects from rice simply by hand.
