If the earth does not rotate but goes round the sun then the portion of the earth facing the sun will receive continuous sunlight . And hence this region will experience extremely hot and the places around will be dried up and become hot desert. This region will also experience continuous day. And the portion of the earth opposite to the sun will not receive the rays of the sun and will be in complete darkness and experience continuous night. This region will experience extremely cold temperatures . In such a harsh conditions life is impossible to exist or survive .

It affects the earth climate in many ways; 1. Which part of the earth get direct rays from the sun is very hot season. 2. Which part of the earth get sun rays in very small quantity is suffering from winter. In that way the earth rotate around the to the whole year, we observe many season.
