Wheat is a rabi crop which require less amount of water. Kharif season is a rainy season during which field are water logged. If we sow wheat in this season excess of water would damage the seeds of the crop.

Wheat is a rabi crop grown in winter season...if wheat is grown in kharif season the crop may wilt as it cannot tolerate excess water. The field may get waterlogged,seed germination might not occur and it can even damage the crop. The wheat crop requires cold weather which is not available in kharif season...... The word in third line "wilt" means "droop"....
