1. Statues are kept in open environment so they are susceptible to rust/tarnish and detetoriation. Moreover to make statues we need to carve and make some minute structures on them, so it requires to be malleable in nature.
2. To ensure these properties, we use alloys in place of pure metals and most common alloy is Bronze.
