FUNGI: fungi can be unicellular or multicellular. Fungi grow best in dark, humid and moist places. Eg - Rhizopus and Agaricus.

PROTOZOA : These are unicellular microorganisms with animal- like characteristics : movement and capturing food. Their habitats include freshwater or saltwater, soil and bodies of other organisms. Eg- Amoeba.

ALGAE: These are plant-like autotrophic microorganisms. They can be unicellular or multicellular. Algae are also found in clumps known as colonies. Eg - Nostoc, Volvox. BACTERIA : are the most commonly found unicellular microorganisms. They are found everywhere including oceans and guts of animals. Eg - Lactobacillus.
