Distribution of population is determined by the following factors:
.Topography:People always prefer to live in plains rather than mountains or plateaus because these areas are suitable for farming, manufacturing and service activities.
.Climate:People usually avoid extreme climates that are either very hot or very cold.
.Soil:Fertile soils provide suitable land for agriculture so plains are densely populated
.Water:People prfer to live in areas where fresh water is easily available.
.Minerals:Areas with mineral deposits are more populated.
.Social cultural and economic factors:Areas with better housing, education and health facilities are more densely populated.Places with religion or cultural significanceattract people.Large number of people are attracted to the industrial areas which provide employment opportunities.
