When more reactive element displace or remove the less reactive element in the rection is called displacement reaction.
Fe(s) + CuSO4 (aq) --> FeSO4 (aq) + Cu (s)
(Copper sulphate ) (Iron sulphate)
In this reaction Iron is more reactive element than copper and therefor displaces copper from coppersulphate solution.
