    Because- 1.They rejected the art of raja Ravi verma as westernized and depicted the art of Indian ancient myths and legends. 2.They thought that a genuine Indian style of painting had to draw inspiration as non western and wanted to capture the essence of the East. 3.They wanted to feel the feeling of nationalism in the minds of people.
