How many square metres of glass will be required for a window has 12 panes each pan measuring 15cm by 16 cm.
Length of the window pane = 15 cm and breadth = 16 cm
Area of one window pane = 15 ×16 = 240 sq cm
Area of 12 such window panes = 240 ×12
Area of 12 window panes = 2880 sq cm
Since 1 sq m = 10000 sq cm
So, required glass for 12 window panes = 2800 ÷   10000
= 0.28 sq m.
