  • Our daily activities, like walking, running, closing the door, etc. involve motion. There is a change of position of the object involved in these activities.
  • The flow of air in and out of our lungs is also an example of motion.
  • The automobiles that carry passengers from the place of pick up to the destination possess motion. In this case, the position of passengers is changed from one place to another.

Movement of any object from one position to another position with respect to the observer is called as Motion. Motion Along a Straight Line: When an object moves along a straight line, the motion of the object is called rectilinear motion.

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 1 month ago

We can define motion as the change of position of an object with respect to time. A book falling off a table, water flowing from the tap, rattling windows, etc all exhibit motion. Even the air that we breathe exhibits motion! Everything in the universe moves. We live in a universe that is in continual motion. The fundamental particle of a matter that is the atom is in constant motion too.

Given, area of an isosceles right triangle = 8 cm2
Area of an isosceles triangle = 1/2 (Base x Height)
⇒  8 = 1/2 (Base x Base)
[∴ base = height, as triangle is an isosceles triangle]
⇒ (Base)2 =16 ⇒  Base= 4 cm

In ΔABC, using Pythagoras theorem
AC2 = AB2 + BC2 = 42 + 42 = 16 + 16
⇒ AC2 = 32 ⇒  AC = √32 cm
[taking positive square root because length is always positive]
Hence, the length of its hypotenuse is √32 cm.

Factors That Affect the Evaporation

  • Temperature: As the temperature increases, the rate of evaporation also increases. Temperature and rate of evaporation are proportional to each other.
  • Surface area: As the surface area increases, the rate of evaporation increases. The surface area and rate of evaporation are proportional to each other.
  • Humidity: The rate of evaporation decreases with an increase in humidity. Humidity and the rate of evaporation are inversely proportional to each other.
  • Wind speed: Increase in wind speed results in increased evaporation. Wind speed and rate of evaporation are proportional to each other.

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 2 months ago

Tides are periodic rises and falls of large bodies of water. Ocean current are continous and directed movements of ocean waters.

The main difference between the two is that while tides are caused due to the gravitational pull between the Earth, moon and the Sun, ocean currents are caused due to various factors like winds, density differences in water masses, salinity and temperature.

When body change it's position continuosly wih respect to stationary object is called motion
Motion, in physics, change with time of the position or orientation of a body. ... Motion that changes the orientation of a body is called rotation. In both cases all points in the body have the same velocity (directed speed) and the same acceleration (time rate of change of velocity).

The Circulatory System is the system of organs in the human beings and other animals which is responsible for transport of materials inside the body. It consists of heart, arteries, veins, capillaries and blood. The heart acts as a pump to push out blood. The arteries, veins and capillaries act as pipes or tubes through which the blood flows. These tubes carries blood are called blood vessels. So, there are three types of blood vessels in the human body: arteries, veins and capillaries. Now in detail we will understand all the parts of the circulatory system.

Newton's first law of motion.A body at rest will remains at rest a body in motion will continuous in motion

Adarsh Singh 4 years, 2 months ago

Newton’s first law of motion states that “A body at rest or uniform motion will continue to be at rest or uniform motion until and unless a net external force acts on it”. Suppose a block is kept on the floor, it will remain at rest until we apply some external force to it. Also, we know that it takes us more effort or force to move a heavy mass. This is directly related to the property known as Inertia. Hence, the first law of motion is also known as the law of inertia. The second law of motion describes what happens to the massive body when acted upon by an external force.  The law states that the force acting on the body is equal to the product of its mass and acceleration. The third law of motion describes what happens to the body when it exerts a force on another body. The law states that when two bodies interact, they apply force on each other that are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.  A force resting on a table applies a downward force equal to its weight on the table.

How does the force of gravitation between two objects change when the distance between them is reduced to half?

Ans. The force of gravitation between two objects is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them therefore the gravity will become four times if distance between them is reduced to half.

Jerome says Montmorency’s ambition in life was to disturb people while they are working and be sworn at. Montmorency was a little dog, who always loved to trouble others. Whenever he found people busy with their work, he might feel bored and wanted to get involved. He meant no trouble intentionally. A dog like Montmorency never wanted any encouragement.
He was born with such a nature that made him do things like that.
