Both VBT are CFT perfectly explained in NCERT. Well, i can explain cft in brief right now but vbt is a much lengthy topic. All the orbitals in subshell have different orientations. Whenever there is repulsion between the ligand field and any of the orbitals, the orbitals acquire higher energy. The repulsion arises when an orbital is oriented towards the ligand field. In octahedral complexes, two d orbitals acquire higher energy while in tetrahedral comolexes, three d orbitals acquire higher energy

It was very simple if the value of dipole moment is 0 than it is non polar and if the value is more than 0 that means it is polar molecule.

Sanjay Kashyap 5 years, 6 months ago

On the basis of dipole moment which is directed towards the electronegative element. If the overall dipole moment of an element in a compound comes out to be zero, then it is non polar and if the overall dipole moment has some value, it is polar.

Change in state of a substance when it is subjected to a change in temperature and pressure. For eg. when ice is heated, its temperature and pressure increases which results in change of its state to water. When this water is heated continuously, its temperature and pressure increase to a greater extent resulting in further change in its state i. e. to steam.
