Simple Interest = P N R / 100
Amount = P + [ PNR /100 ]
16240 = P [ 1 + [ 4 x 4 / 100] ]
1640 = P [ 1 + [4 / 25] ]
16240 = P [ 29 / 25 ]
560 = P/25
P = 14000 Rs.
Hence the principle amount is 14000 Rs.

Friction is the force that opposes motion between any surfaces that are in contact. There are four types of friction: static, sliding, rolling, and fluid friction. Static, sliding, and rolling friction occur between solid surfaces. ... Fluid friction occurs in fluids, which are liquids or gases. A book moving across the desk is an example of sliding friction. ... When you ride a bicycle, the contact between the wheel and the road is an example of rolling friction. When an object rolls over a surface, the force needed to overcome rolling friction is much less than that needed to overcome sliding friction.
